There are many types of metal machining and different sizes. There are more kinds of machine tools now. Some machine tools are small enough to be installed on the table, and some machine tools are large enough to be accommodated by a special factory building. Some machine tools are reasonably simple, while some machine tools have a very messy structure and operation.


Whether the machine tool is large or small, whether simple or messy, it can be divided into five categories, which are the five basic methods of metal machining and forming.


Drilling is the process of drilling holes in solid metal. A rotary drill bit called a twist drill is used. The machine tool used for drilling is called a drill press.
